Favorite Hair Growth Products for a 47-Year-Old Perimenopausal Woman

I’ve been on a mission as a 47-year-old woman in perimenopause to get my hair back to its fullness again. Below is a list of products I’ve used and love! They’ve definitely helped with hair growth and fullness.

Shampoo

I’m grateful my daughter gave me the shampoo and conditioner. I don’t think I would’ve ever tried this if it weren’t for her. I feel like this made such a huge difference for my hair growth. The shampoo was more effective than the conditioner to me.

Sometimes, I’d opt for another moisturizing conditioner and still notice hair growth results. It showed by all the new growth that stuck out of my head, not because of the length of my hair.

Serum

Another product I used, which I believe helped accelerate new hair growth, was the Aavrni Hair Density Boosting Scalp Serum for Thinning Hair & Hair Loss

There were nights when I’d forget to use it. Overall, when I did remember, I honestly noticed a difference in hair density. I applied this after I washed my hair and allowed it to air dry. I did notice residue in my hair after it dried, but nothing alarming. When massaged well and thoroughly, I did see less residue from this product.

Hair Towel

I stopped using a regular towel to wrap my hair. As I got older, I noticed my hair is more fragile, and fallout plus breakage is much easier now. Using a hair turban or towel has been a game changer. It is way lighter on my hair and eliminates weighing my hair down and pulling it out. Plus it helps dry my hair faster.

Crown Affair The Hair Towel is definitely a favorite of mine. So much so that I added it to my list of current favorites, which you can read about here.

Hair Gummies

This has been an all-time favorite of mine for soooo long. This is probably my10th bottle already. If not the 10th bottle, definitely more. I don’t think this helps with new hair growth, but I added it to my current hair regimen because it helps a lot with hair loss.

So if you are focusing on new hair growth, it would also be beneficial to keep or maintain your existing hair. My favorite gummies are the Sugarbear Hair Vitamin Vegan Kosher Gummy Multivitamin + Extra Strength Biotin.

I also wrote about it in my blog post, 4 Tips To Slow Down Hair Loss For Women Over 40. Definitely check it out in addition to this post for extra hair health benefits.

I will say I used each product together. So I can’t say which worked better than the other. But I will say I used the shampoo more consistently than the hair serum. Sometimes, I would forget to apply the hair serum.

After a couple of months of using all products together, I really noticed a difference in new hair growth. I started noticing significant hair loss after I turned 45 years old. It was also after my surgery when I had my right ovary removed.

I’ve always loved my hair, so when I noticed it was starting to thin, I’ve been on a mission to get it back to its fullness again. I think I’ve found a great combination of products that work well together.

Right now, I’m using other products that are more affordable and will report back to let you know if they work or not. I found a Korean hair growth shampoo from Costco, using a hair serum from The Ordinary, and still taking the same hair gummies. I know they work well, and I can’t find anything comparable for a more affordable price.

I’ve also been on a mission to get back moisture in my hair and regain its softness as well. I was focused on hair growth that I didn’t pay attention to the dryness of my hair. This also happened right after turned 45.

At first, I thought I was tripping about the texture of my hair. Every time I touched my hair, I noticed it didn’t feel the same and swore it felt drier. When I asked my girlfriends to feel my hair, they said it didn’t feel dry. But when I asked someone else to feel my hair, they told me it did. I think either my girlfriends were just being nice or they really didn’t know the difference.

Anywho, I’m also working on getting moisture back into my locks. I’ll report back as well to let you know what products have worked in giving me back moisture on my perimenopausal hair.

As always, thanks for reading!
