I just bought some things from Banana Republic, and I want to share with you what I got! I’m super excited about my purchase because it’s been hot where I live. I’m ready for some warm-weather-ready wardrobe additions.
Let me start with what I think will be my favorite purchases out of this haul. They’re both dresses, perfect for warm Spring days and hot Summer nights!
I love that the black dress is 100% linen. It’s a scoop neck, so someone with a bigger chest like mine (36 DDD) doesn’t feel too exposed. But the long slit on both sides also gives this dress a sense of sexiness and flow to it. I also love that the sleeve length is long enough to cover my upper arm. I’m currently in the process of removing an old tattoo on my right upper arm. I’ve been trying to find clothing that’s not too hot for warm weather, yet still covers the process of my tattoo removal.
The green dress I thought was just so cute and fun! Although it’s not 100% linen, it’s flowy and short enough to allow room to breathe on hot days. I love the green color and find that this shade is usually flattering on tan skin. I’m most excited about these two pieces!
The next items I purchased from Banana Republic are two pairs of pants and a top.
I’ve always wanted a pair of brown pants. Brown has been trending lately. I always wanted a pair of brown silk pants, but when I saw this in 100% linen, I thought, “Why not?” Plus, they’re mid-rise, which I’m a fan of because it helps hide my lower belly.
The black pair of pants in the middle isn’t 100% linen, but it is 98% cotton and 2% elastane. I liked the shape because it looks like a milder version of the barrel-leg trend. Barrel leg pants can either be a love-it or hate-it situation for some. I don’t mind them. I find them cute. Although not barrel, this cut is the relaxed painter pants. I feel like it kind of gives off barrel, just not as extreme. I’m excited to style these. You can never go wrong with a pair of black, nice-fitting pants.
The black top pictured above is also 98% cotton and 2% elstane. In the picture above, it’s paired with a cute skirt that’s now sold out. I plan on pairing it with the relaxed painter pants and will see how that looks. The girl in the middle is actually wearing the beige version of that top. It has a sporty look to it, and I plan on pairing it with my workout clothes too.
I plan on pairing these items with either my studded Madewell bag or zebra print Madewell bag (see below) and silver jewelry.
